Product History

After nine years of work and development we hereby wish to introduce a "State of the Art" proprietary 1,000,000 litre per day, continuous flow, multi stream wastewater treatment process that improves on a well known electro-chemical treatment technology known as Electrocoagulation (EC).  We call our process CFEC™( pr: cee fek) for Continuous Flow Electro Coagulation.

In typical static batch type systems EC science and phenomena is widely understood and has proven very successful in treating multiple different organic and industrial wastewater streams.  The challenge has always been developing commercially viable industrial throughput volumes.  We have designed a proprietary continuous flow, auto adjusting multiplate, EC reactor that processes 1100 m3 per day (250,000 gallons day or 3.3 gallons per second) of municipal sewage and mineral leachates with compliant effluent standards, confirmed by Cantest Labs, that allow for direct discharge to environment.

BOYDEL has perfected this method for electro chemical treatment of mine leachate and municipal wastewater and for removing oil from water that utilizes both the principles of ElectroCoagulation (EC) and Electro-Fenton (EF) reactions. The method consists of subjecting the leachate under pressure to an applied electric field between a multiple array of two iron electrodes whereby hydrogen and oxygen gas in the feedstock liquid is released along with metal hydroxide ions. Through a charge neutralization phenomena over 95% of fine particles can be removed via polymer-Ion-TSS coagulation.  The produced hydrogen & oxygen gasses released then float these same coagulants out to our CFEC™ clarifier where they are removed and sequestered for disposal or further processing if required. The turbidity of the remaining clarified solution thereby is reduced to very low under 1 ntu values and thereby essentially and virtually clear levels.

The mechanical footprint of the BOYDEL pilot plant process is a compact mobile 2.7 m x 6 m mobile platform consisting of predominately two vessels;  our PLC controlled CFEC Reactor and Clarifier supported by a proprietary chemical dosing regimen and distribution system and finally with a proprietary polymer mixing and dosing regime.

All of our modules are fully automated with industry standard Allen Bradley PLC motor control and monitored via touch screen operator HMI.  The modules are SCADA enabled for remote monitoring and PLC trouble shooting.

We have comprehensive experience operating various sized modules in a  continuous sewage treatment environment and are confident that our water scrubbing process is ready for worldwide commissioning.
